1. Wow, I was totes surprised to see this pop up on my dash as I’m friends with the artist who made this… but it doesn’t seem like there’s credit to her anywhere. :(
You can see the original photo of this sculpture on her dA gallery here! http://indigo-ocean.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d318h3m

2. [Image Description: Image is five kittens in a kitten pile. One kitten is grey, one is a brown tabby, two are orange tabbies, and one is a orange tabby with black markings. They are adorable and snuggled up together.]
If you are in need of a kitten pile and also need an answer to the burning question of just how many kittens can fit in a litter box, I come to please!

(Kittens are not mine but they are currently living at the cat rescue/low cost spay and neuter clinic I am with. <3 And now for the obligatory please spay and neuter your pets.)

3. [Image Description: Picture is of a brown Easter Egger chicken sitting down in some grass.]
I had to hypnotize my Easter Egger to get her to hold still for these pictures. It’s incredibly easy to do so, you gently hold the chicken’s head near the ground and then hold your finger or a stick near the tip of their beak. Then you quickly draw a line on their ground away from their heads. Most chickens will become hypnotized.
Should you ever need to absolutely /have/ to hypnotize a chicken, now you know!
I’m actually not sure if this chicken is an Easter Egger or an Ameraucana. An Easter Egger is a mixed breed chicken that has the gene to lay green/blue eggs. An Ameraucana is an standard breed derived from Easter Eggers, they also have the gene to lay green/blue eggs.
She’s very interested in what’s going on around her, she’s a bit of a gawker. I am keeping the chickens in a cage in the house until they’re large enough to live outside. The Easter Egger is always the one peeping around the cover of the cage to watch what you’re doing and what’s happening.
(As a note: This chicken is my companion animal. She will not be slaughtered for food.)

4. [Image Description: Image is a head shot of a young Turken chicken in a grassy yard. She has long bare neck with a few light yellow and brown feathers.]
I absolutely love this picture I took of my Turken, which is why I am reposting it in a larger size. I think she’s fascinating and beautiful, though her bald neck makes me want to knit neck-warmers for her. Somehow Turkens are a cold-hardy breed of chicken, though. She’s the most friendly of my chickens and she’s perfectly content to rest on my arm and eat treats out of the palm of my hand.
In between posing her for these pictures, she tried to peck off my nose ring, lol.

5. [Image Description: Picture is headshots of three baby chickens with a grassy yard in the background. The larger picture on top is of a brown Easter Egger. On the bottom left is a light yellow Turken, the bottom right is a black and white Silver Laced Wyandotte.]
My peeps. :3 They all should be hens and are about 4 weeks old.
They still need names, any suggestions?

(As a note: These chickens are my companion animals. I raise them for the joy of having them around, as they are quite entertaining, and for their eggs. They will not be slaughtered. Do not suggest cruel names like Drumstick or whatnot for them. It’s not funny. :C /I/ get to joke about naming one of them McChicken only because I have a cat named McKitten and why not continue that tradition. ;D)

6. fyeahpdp:

[Picture: Background: 8 piece pie style color split with red and teal alternating. Foreground: White guy with glasses and light shadow wearing a sweat shirt over a button down and short black hair. Has a smug, arrogant facial expression and crossed arms.
Top text: “Not having enough control over your life makes you suicidal?” Bottom text: “We need to section you for your own good!”]

This is basically this is why I disappeared. Sorry if I worried anyone.

7. I pull your cloak around me
and I am covered in your embrace.
You are mine; my protection, my comfort.
I am yours; your comfort, your shelter.
Your light burns and I reflect you.
I am luminous.

How long has it been, lover?
Do we count years like rings of trees?
Like rings you placed around my fingers
that swirl around them like cosmic dust.
Or do we tally every kiss in neat groups?
Every kiss we’ve placed from lips to
soft necks down the lines of our jaws.

How long has it been, lover?
And how is it that your skin against mine
still makes my breath catch?
Your lips press against my ear to shape
the sounds of my name.
Show me mercy, my heart, my life, my love.

How long has it been, lover?
But does the time really matter by now?
You lie beside me and my sleepy head
rests upon your chest, our hands are clasped.
There is enough love here to cover us both.
We made our bed under a canopy of stars,
their soft flickering will lull us to sleep.

8. It’s hilarious because it just happened to me yesterday. lololol.

Lupus center closed?! Get me the rheumatologist on call! Confirm flaring flare of all flares! Request Medrol DOSEPAK!

Delicious steroid relief. I feel so much better today.

9. you say you are an island

but in this hush
the cupped hands of two bodies
are overflowing

you say you are an island

but the heat here is unbearable
and has uncovered an awkward, aching
need

and you say you are an island

but in this space
two bodies
have met
melded
glowed

you said you are an island
but I say
we are
